The project was exhibited at the Skyscraper Museum in New York City from January through July 2011.

A second edition on East Asia was exhibited from March through May 2012 at NYU's East Asian Studies Department with new material on globalization and its impact on labor and architecture.

The combined show opened at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit on May 11, 2012 and will be displayed through July.

Vertical Urban Factory features the innovative architectural design, structural engineering, and processing methods of significant factory buildings from the turn of the 20th century to the present. It provokes ideas for the future of urban manufacturing.
